Music

Music (from the Greek. Musike, literally – the art of music), an art form that reflects reality and affects a person through meaningful and specially organized sound sequences, consisting mainly of tones. Music is a specific kind of human sound activity. With other varieties (speech, instrumental and audible alarms, etc.), it combines the ability to express the thoughts, emotions, and volitional processes of a person in audible form and serve as a means of communicating people and controlling their behavior. At the same time, it differs significantly from all other varieties of human sound activity. While preserving some semblance of sounds of real life, musical sound is fundamentally different from them by their strict high-altitude and temporary (rhythmic) organization. These sounds are included in the historical systems, which are based on tones. In each piece of music they form their own system of vertical connections and horizontal sequences – its form.

In the content of music, the dominant role is played by emotional states and processes. Their leading place in the music content is predetermined by the sound and temporal nature of music, which allows it, on the one hand, to rely on the centuries-old experience of people externally identifying their emotions and transmitting them to other members of society primarily and primarily through sounds and, on the other, to adequately express emotional experience as a movement, a process with all its changes and shades, dynamic increases and falls, mutual transitions of emotions and their collisions.

Of the various types of emotions, music embodies mainly moods. The emotional aspects of the intellectual and volitional qualities of the individual are also widely represented in the musical content. This allows this type of art to reveal not only the psychological states of people, but also their characters.

Music Music is available in different genres: epic, dramatic, lyrical. At the same time, however, due to its non-visual nature, the lyrics are closest to her.

The material embodiment of the content of music, the way of its existence is the musical form – that system of musical sounds in which the composer’s emotions, thoughts and imaginative representations are realized. Even when taken separately, musical sounds have already primary expressive possibilities. Each of them can cause a physiological sensation of pleasure or displeasure, excitement or sedation, tension or discharge, sensation of heaviness or lightness, heat or cold, darkness or light, as well as the simplest spatial associations.

In each piece of music of the individual elements of its form in the process of combining and subordinating the overall structure consists of several private structures. The latter include the structures: melodic, rhythmic, ladarharmonic, textured, timbre, dynamic, etc. Thematic structure, whose elements are musical tempos, is of particular importance. In most musical styles, themes are the material carriers of musical images.

Music has its own structure. Thus, in a developed musical culture, creativity is represented by many varieties that can be differentiated according to different characteristics. By type of content, music is classified as: lyrical, epic, dramatic, as well as heroic, tragic, humorous, and so on; in another aspect – serious music and light music. For performing purposes: vocal and instrumental; in another aspect – solo, ensemble, orchestral, choral, mixed. According to the synthesis with other types of art and with the word: theatrical music, dance music, program instrumental, melodrama, vocal with words. Music outside the synthesis – vocal and “pure” instrumental. In turn, the first is divided into the spectacular and concert, the second – into the mass-everyday and ceremonial. Each of the resulting four varieties can be differentiated further.
