Romanticism (French romantisme from the Latin. Roman romanum from Roma – Rome) is one of two, along with Classicism, the fundamental tendencies of artistic thinking. The theater usually achieves artistic growth when, penetrating the advanced ideas of the epoch, it fights for humanistic ideals and deeply and truthfully reveals the complexity of the inner world of a person, his aspirations.
