Expressionism
In the history of art, the term expressionism (from the Latin. Expressio – “expression”) is applicable to a wide range of phenomena. And yet, as a definite trend in art, expressionism unites primarily the work of a group of artists who worked in Germany before the First World War.
Since the end of the XIX century. in German culture there was a special view on the work of art. It was believed that it should carry in itself only the will of the creator, to be created “by internal necessity,” which does not need comments and excuses. Cubofuturism
Cubofuturism is a literary and artistic movement in Russia in the 1910s. It was the Russian version of European futurism. His influence was experienced by KS. Malevich, V.E. Tatlin, P.N. Filonov, M.F. Larionov, N.S. Goncharova, L.S. Popova, A.V. Lentulov.
In it, the cubist decomposition of forms, learned from the creative method formulated by Picasso and Braque, was combined with artistic techniques of another European trend in art – futurism. Continue reading
Aphrodite
Aphrodite or Venus – the goddess of love. Her name has become synonymous with Love and Beauty, and to this day, the artists embody in them their idea of Beauty.
In ancient myths, the image of Aphrodite is not so romantic. According to one of the earlier versions, it came from the blood of the insulated Crown of Uranus, which fell into the sea and formed foam. This myth traces the primordial principle of Aphrodite, not so much the goddess of love, as the patroness of childbirth, the sea, eternal spring and life, which gives abundance. Continue reading
